Half a decade has gone by since Blueprint got their Megaways debut with Diamond Mine Megaways back in 2018, but you wouldn’t really think so when you look at Diamond Mine 2 Megaways. There have been 3 other installments squeezed in-between this more “official” sequel, and these are known as All Action, Boost, and Extra Gold. Mining slot fans can’t complain about not having options at least, but we had our hopes up for something a bit more special this time.
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways slot doesn’t really take things to the next level, however, but it comes with a brand new Gold Spins bonus round option. This is admittedly a feature you don’t see too often, and it can be a hard one to figure out as well. Basically, you get unlimited free spins until the progressive multiplier hits the upfront stated limit, which can cut both ways so to speak. There is a more regular unlimited progressive multiplier bonus round as well, and both can lead to payoutsup to 10,000x your stake.
TheAnte Betcan be turned on between base game spins, and it will cost you20 % more per spinto keep it on. The benefit is an increased chance of triggering the bonus round, but the RTP is not affected. The premium symbols pay between 2 and 50 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and winning symbols are removed and replaced via theCascading mechanic. This repeats as long as you keep winning, and dynamite wilds appear on the top tracker reel only.
TheTNT barrel Mystery Symbolsappear quite frequently in Diamond Mine 2 Megaways online slot as well, and they work like mystery symbols usually do. All instances of the TNT barrels turn into the same randomly chosen matching symbol, but the mystery symbols cannot turn into scatter symbols.
Speaking of, you need3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 scatter symbolsin view to trigger theBonus Round, and this gives you8, 12, 16, 20, or 24 free spins, respectively. Alternatively, you can choose theGolden Guarantee Gold Spins round. It comes with indefinite free spins until the win multiplier hits the golden guarantee level. These levels arex5, x7, x9, x12, or x15 for 3, 4, 5, 6, or 7 triggering scatters, respectively.
TheFree Spins Gamble featureis an option you get before the bonus round starts, and you can gamble for up to 30 free spins on a wheel. The gamble feature is not available if you choose the Golden Guarantee Gold Spins feature, however, and the possible outcomes of the gamble option are on display before you make your choice.
Both bonus round options come with a progressive multiplier that starts at x1, and it increases by +1 per cascading win. You win+5 or +10 extra spinsif you land3 or 4 scattersin view in the regular bonus round, respectively, and each scatter increases the Golden Guarantee limit in the Gold Spins feature.
Finally, non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can pay100x the staketobuy the bonus round, and you can choose freely between the two features as you see fit. This is known as the Gold Bet feature, which is not to be mistaken for the ante bet feature that sits right below it. The organic bonus round hit rate is 1 in 250 spins with the ante bet turned off.
You get to see a few base game wins, as well as the mystery symbols feature, before we trigger the bonus round at 0:35 into the 3-minute highlights video. We went with the unlimited win multiplier option, and we gambled to get 12 free spins. You can see it all for yourself by hitting the play button below.
Diamond Mine 2 Megaways casino slot is the 5th Megaways installment in this Blueprint series, and they all look pretty much the same. Each game comes with something new added to the mix, but overall the features are pretty similar. Unfortunately, there is nothing here that will revolutionize this range, but you get charming gold mining audiovisuals as usual. The dynamic grid does its thing all the way, and mystery symbols come along on a regular basis to possibly land you a decent top-up win. The ante bet benefit is not specified with stats, which we don’t appreciate, and this is an obvious thing that some developers just don’t seem to get.
The Gold Spins bonus round option is brand new, however, and not really something you see too often. It might be a better idea to go for this option when you land 6 or 7 triggering scatters, at least in our opinion, as a higher golden guarantee limit translates to more wins to get to the threshold. The regular bonus round is standard stuff, and a safer option the way we see it, but it can be fun to experiment with the Gold Spins round once in a while. At least you’ve got plenty of different gold mining slots to choose from in this range, and it will be interesting to see how long Blueprint can keep this series going.
