The third installment in Yggdrasil’s Gigablox series, Gator Gold Gigablox, is somewhat disappointing compared to the first two games. Its visual presentation is mediocre, unlike the rich and elaborate visuals of the previous games. The African safari theme seems generic and out of place. The gameplay itself is also standard, with only wilds and Gigablox reels to sustain interest in the base game. The 20,000x potential is the game’s most attractive feature. The Gigablox mechanic ensures each spin is unique, similar to the Megaways engine.
The Bonus Round is triggered by landing 5 bonus scatters on the same spin, which awards the same number of free spins as the number of triggering scatters. During the feature, you can get additional spins for every scatter you land. The feature introduces 2x and 3x multiplier wilds. On average, the feature is triggered once every 127 spins.
Despite the weaker visual presentation, the game still offers the Gigablox variety in the base game. Also, the 20,000x potential is higher than the previous titles, which may compensate for the lackluster visuals. However, it is high time the series moves forward with a more innovative concept.
