Few movies define the 80s like the cult classic, The Goonies, and it’s a joy to once again revisit the adventurous world of the young misfits in Blueprint’s second branded installment, simply called The Goonies Return. If you were impressed by the feature heaviness of the first game, this sequel is hardly gonna disappoint in that department either.
You get 6 random modifiers during base game play, as well as 4 that can trigger to turn losing spins into winners. In addition, there is a bonus wheel filled with 6 features, including 3 free spins rounds and 2 bonus games. The cut scenes, animations and action commentary is top notch, and fans of the movie will get to relive plenty of enjoyable moments here.
TheDoubloon Wildsteps in for all regular pay symbols to help you form winning combos, and it comes with the same value as the top-tier skull ‘n crossbones symbol. Five of a kind thus awards 25x your stake, while the mid-level character symbols (Mikey, Chunk, Mouth and Data) pay between 10-15x your stake for the same.
TheOne-Eyed Willy featurecan trigger at random times in the base The Goonies Return game, andyou then get to choose 1 of 3 keys. This awards1 of the following modifiers:
In addition to these randomly triggered modifiers, you also havesome additional modifiers that can trigger on losing spins only:

TheSkeleton Organ Bonus Roundcomes with 5 free spins, and the Skeleton Organ Symbols are super stacked on the reels. These symbols are also sticky for the duration of the feature, and you’ll pick a key to reveal a symbol that becomes overlaid on all Skeleton Organ Symbols. As the feature ends, you get to pick a gold doubloon to reveal extra spins, a new bonus round entirely or ‘Collect’ to take you back to the base game.
TheFratelli Bonus Roundcomes with 10 free spins, and Super Sloth Wilds highlight the position they land on. On the final spin, either cash symbols or wilds will appear in the marked positions, and you need 5 cash symbols to trigger the Momma Fratelly Money Spins feature. This is a streak respins style feature with 3 starting spins, and cash symbols become sticky and reset the spin tally when they land. Once again, you get to make a pick (of keys this time), and this might award extra spins, a new bonus feature or ‘Collect’.
The Goonies ReturnFinal Voyage Free Spinsfeature comes with a full-reel Inferno Wild that starts on reel 1. It moves one reel to the right per free spin, turning Data, Mouth, Chunk and Mike symbols wild on spin 1 to 4. This means that all 4 character symbols are wild on the 5th and final spin, and you get to pick 1 of 5 doubloons to win extra spins, the One-Eyed Willy Riches feature or ‘Collect’.
TheOne-Eyed Willy Riches Bonusis a hold-and-win style feature, and you start with 3 spins. You can land both cash symbols and character symbols, and both reset the spin tally to 3 again. The symbols come with the following modifiers:

The nostalgic vibe from the movie is carried over well in The Goonies Return slot, and perhaps even more so than in the original Blueprint release. You get plenty of fun animations, cut scenes and action commentary, and, of course, there is a total overload of features. There is so much action packed into this game that it literally will make your head spin at first, and it will take a good while to try everything and get somewhat of an overview.
The good news is that many of these features come with solid potential returns, and the overall max win is capped at £250,000, as usual fromBlueprint. If you enjoyed the original game, there is no reason you’ll not thoroughly enjoy this sequel as well, and the medium volatility makes it suitable for most player types. If you want to get lost in an adventurous world full of features, you cannot go wrong playing either of the Goonies installments.
