Post-apocalyptic slots usually come with zombies and different kinds of maniacs, but Florageddon! from Yggdrasil presents a more realistic scenario. Plants have taken over the world, and a telephone booth, traffic light and taxi is the only sign of civilization that remains. Based on the Manifesto we’re pretty sure the Unabomber would love this game, since nature won.
There are some innovations here compared to the predecessor installments, as you get 2 incrementing multipliers instead of only one. They increment depending on which way you win, and combine if you win both ways. In addition, you get a special award modifier when you land 3 or 4 consecutive dropdown wins, and the multipliers never reset in the bonus round.
You can win both ways in this game, and the high pays plant symbols pay between 1 and 5 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins. You can landwild symbolsanywhere, and wilds step in for pay symbols to help complete wins. Winning symbols are removed via theDropdown mechanic, and a wild is spawned in one of the empty positions. The remaining positions are filled with new and/or existing symbols dropping down, and this repeats for each new win.
There are2 progressive win multipliers, and they are placed on each side of the grid. The multiplier increments per dropdown win, and which one you get depends on the win being created from left to right or right to left. If you land both ways wins, the multipliers on each side of the reels combine to boost the win.
In addition, there is a dropdown counter above the grid, and it gives you aSpecial Awardwhen it is filled. You need 4 consecutive dropdowns in the base game to get the reward, while only 3 consecutive dropdowns are needed in the bonus round. Here’s an overview of what you can get:
You need3, 4 or 5 scattersin view to trigger the Bonus Round, and this awards7, 9 or 11 free spins, respectively. You can choose togamble for up to 16 free spinsif you wish, but if you lose the gamble the whole feature is lost. The big difference is that the incrementing multipliers never reset during the bonus round, and the special award counter only takes 3 consecutive dropdown wins instead of 4 to be filled.
TheGolden Bet optioncosts50 % more per spin, but it decreases the number of consecutive dropdowns you need to fill the special award meter from 4 to 3 in the base game. Non-UK players, and anyone eligible, canpurchase the bonus roundfor100x the stake. This awards 3, 4 or 5 scatters, and you can also pay400x the stakefor 16 free spins.
We had a pretty good time testing Florageddon! from Yggdrasil, and we have whipped together a brief and edited highlights video for you as we usually do. Only the best moments from our 200 spins test session made the final cut, and you can see for yourself how we fared by hitting the play button below.
Plants taking over the world after armageddon is a realistic scenario that’s well depicted in Florageddon!, but the visuals are not quite as impressive as they were in MultiFly and other previous installments. The multipliers can certainly blow up in this installment as well though, even though they don’t double per dropdown win like in Raptor Doublemax.
We like that the multipliers combine when you win both ways, and the special award meter adds a new dimension to the gameplay. The meat-eating plants could’ve been more animated and alive perhaps, but overall this is a solid addition to the multiplier series. If you liked the previous installments Florageddon! will probably not disappoint, and at least Yggdrasil is experimenting with new features instead of just recreating the same game.
Pros
Cons
MultiFly- is a visually pleasing predecessor release from Yggdrasil, and it comes with a progressive win multiplier that increases above each reel. The multiplier increases where the wild is spawned after a dropdown win, and they combine to boost wins. The multipliers don’t reset in the bonus round, and the max win is 10,000x your stake.
Raptor Doublemax- is a dinosaur installment in Yggdrasil’s multiplier series, and the multiplier doubles per dropdown win with no upper limit. You get a wild per dropdown as well, and the multiplier only keeps building in the bonus round. The max win is 20,000x your stake.
MexoMax!- is an Aztec installment in the multiplier range from Yggdrasil, and it comes with a 6×6 cluster pays grid. Consecutive dropdown wins create wilds and increase the progressive win multiplier, and it never resets in the bonus round. The max win is 10,000x your stake.

The game offers several innovative features such as two incrementing multipliers, a special award modifier for consecutive dropdown wins, and the opportunity to win both ways. The game’s plant symbols offer payouts ranging from 1 to 5 times your stake for a five-of-a-kind win, and wild symbols can appear anywhere on the reels to help complete winning combinations. The bonus round offers non-resetting multipliers and a special award counter that only requires 3 consecutive dropdown wins to fill.
