The title of this game makes us wonder if Vikings Go To Valhalla could be the last installment in Yggdrasil’s popular Norse warrior range, or perhaps there will be a return even from Valhalla. Time will tell, but either way the 4 brave warriors are in for the fight of their eternal life this time. They’re literally duking it out with Jormungandr, the World Serpent that encircles the human realm according to Norse mythology.
Gunnar and his crew will probably need all the practice they got from defeating The Lord of Chains and Lucifix himself inVikings go to Hell, if they want to be granted access to Odin’s giant ‘hall of fame’ in Asgard. We’re happy to report that the Rage Meters are back, and they trigger Berserk Respins this time. The post bonus round Ragnarok Wheel may lead to the top-tier Ragnarok bonus round, or it can come from the reel 5 Treasure Chest symbols.
The4 viking premium symbolspay between 6 and 10 x your stake for 5 of a kind wins, and theWild symbolsteps in for regular pay symbols to help complete wins. You get aViking Battle featurein each of the bonus features we’ll cover below, and if the viking symbol wins the battle with Jormungandr, the symbol turns sticky wild for the duration of the feature. Berserk vikings always win the battle.
Each of the4 vikings has a Rage Meteryou’ll see below the grid, and winning combinations adds viking-specific points to the corresponding meter. You need to collect16 Rage Points to trigger the Berserk Respins featurefor each viking. The Respins go on as long as at least1 battle is won by any viking, and it also ends if you fill the screen with sticky wilds.
You can landspecial Treasure Chest symbols on reel 5 only, and these can appear in all stages of the game. Landing a treasure chest in the base game awards aninstant random cash prize of 2x to 500x your stake,7-21 free spins or the top-tier Ragnarok Bonus Round. A treasure chest in the bonus round or Ragnarok round awards the following:
The Bonus Round triggers with7, 14 or 21 free spins, respectively, when you land3, 4 or 5 bonus scattersanywhere in view. A small reel set spins to award up to 4 bonus round extras up front. These can be a randomly assigned berserk viking, 1 or 2 extra spins, a randomly placed sticky wild, a full sticky wild reel or extra treasure chests added to the reels strips of reel 5.
TheRagnarok Wheel featuretriggers when the bonus round ends, and it comes with 6 concentric wheels that spin one by one starting with the outermost wheel. You need to land a golden segment in the highlighted position to move towards the center of the wheel, and landing on a golden segment 6 times in a row awards the Ragnarok Bonus Round. Landing on a black segment turns it gold, which gives you better odds next time.
TheRagnarok Bonus Roundcomes with7 free spins, and all 4 vikings are berserk for the entirety of the feature. This means that each viking symbol becomes a sticky wild for the duration of the Ragnarok Round, and thex1 starting multipliermay increase via the Treasure Chest symbol as described above.
Finally, non-UK players, and anyone eligible, can take advantage of theBonus Buy menu. It comes with 3 options as follows:
You get to see a decent base game win, before we purchase the Ragnarok Wheel at 1:10 into the 6-minute highlights video. It didn’t amount to much, so we purchased the regular bonus round right after. Finally, after another failed Ragnarok Wheel attempt, we buy the Ragnarok Bonus Round at the 3:34-mark. You can check it all out for yourself by hitting the play button below.
We like the brand new Berserk Respins feature, as it provides a decent break from the base game grind. Racking up plenty of sticky wilds is not always easy though, and even a full screen provides 250x your stake at best. Repeat sticky wild wins can make a dent though, and the viking battles are entertaining as always. We’re also happy the Rage Meters are back, as they provide motivation to keep going.
Judging from the feature prices only, you might need around 47 Ragnarok Wheel attempts before you get to the actual feature, and getting there organically is far from easy. This is where the game truly shines though, and the regular bonus round almost feels half-baked once you’ve tasted Jormungandr blood with all vikings in berserk mode. Landing small coin prizes from the treasure chest is a tad annoying, and feature upgrades only would have been preferred in the bonus rounds. Overall, a worthy ending to the popular Norse saga, if indeed Valhalla is the endstation.
Pros
Cons
Vikings Go Berzerk Reloaded- is the 4th release in Yggdrasil’s popular Norse warriors saga, and you get up to x8 multiplier wilds in the base game. Random Ragnarok Spins comes with all 4 vikings in berserk mode, and you can gamble to get all 4 of them berserk in the bonus round as well. The max win is a solid 25,000x your stake.
Vikings Go Berzerk- is the second installment in the Yggdrasil ‘vikings go’ series, and you get treasure chests on both reels 4 and 5. The bonus round is the main attraction, and it comes with viking battle sticky wilds and other extras. This is a simpler release than the game at hand, and you can win up to 4,000x your stake.
Vikings go to Hell- takes you to the pits of hell, which is pretty much a warm-up to what the brave warriors are facing in the game at hand. You’ll battle the devil himself in this installment though, and plenty of demons too. You get treasure chests, rage meters, berserk vikings and payouts up to 5,500x your stake.
The game “Vikings Go To Valhalla” by Yggdrasil has a title that raises questions about whether it could be the final game in the popular Norse warrior series. Regardless, the four warriors are in for an epic battle against Jormungandr, the World Serpent from Norse mythology. They will need to use all the skills they have acquired in previous battles to gain access to Odin’s hall of fame in Asgard. Excitingly, the Rage Meters are back and can trigger Berserk Respins. A post-bonus round Ragnarok Wheel may lead to the top-tier Ragnarok bonus round, and there are a range of prizes to be won. As with previous games, each Viking has a Rage Meter which fills up as they win battles. Special Treasure Chest symbols on reel 5 can award cash prizes, free spins or a bonus round. The Ragnarok Bonus Round gives players seven free spins and turns each Viking symbol into a sticky wild. Players outside the UK and those who are eligible can also use the Bonus Buy menu. The game also features the new Berserk Respins feature which offers a break from the base game. It is worth noting that the game can be challenging and getting to the Ragnarok Wheel organically can be difficult. The game also includes an “x1 starting multiplier” that can be increased with the Treasure Chest symbol. This game is likely to be a fitting end to the popular Norse saga if Valhalla is indeed the final destination.
