Blueprint seems to be keen on candies recently as Candy Cashcades is its second release of a sugary-themed slot of 2020. The first one was powered by the Megaways engine and made some waves among slot enthusiasts and casino hounds. Sweet Success Megaways managed to get a confession with those who appreciate candy-inspired slots, and the question is would Candy Cashcades be able to follow the footsteps of the success of its predecessor.
The actions take place across an 8×8 sized grid with Cluster Pays system. Candy Cashcades is powered by a medium volatile math model, so it would appeal to less risky players, though, adjust your bets wiser to survive in the long run since you won’t have a lot of those smaller wins to keep you afloat. The RTP is slightly disappointing though at 95.50%, which is lower than the average level within the industry of 96%.
Players drop in by setting bets from 0.2$ to 20$, providing a moderate betting range. What is most impressive about Blueprint’s brainchild is the maximum potential, which is really mind-blowing when taking into consideration the medium volatility level. You can hit the jackpot of 50,000x on a single spin in Candy Cashcades.
As the title implies, the game comes with a candy-inspired theme. In terms of the visuals, it’s partially similar to the developer’s previous sweet-themed release. Loading the game will take you to the candy universe, where various sweets, lollipops, cakes, and toppings make up the backdrop. The background as well as the soundtrack remained identical to the game’s ’older brother’, so if you’ve ever tried Sweet Success Megaways, you’ll be familiar with the scenery and the music. The semi-transparent reels are set in the midst of a vast meadow, and the same candy mountains can be seen in the rear. The soundtrack is on spot too, as the music captures the essential vibe and adds a final touch to the atmosphere.
When it comes to the symbols, the paytable offers a bunch of familiar icons alongside some newer ones. There are 6 regular symbols in total, which include candies of various shapes and colors, including orange, purple, green, blue, red, and a pink Sugar Rush heart as a top star. As already mentioned above, the game comes with Cluster Pays mechanic. You’ll require at least 5 matching symbols to form a cluster, and the most valuable are clusters involving 25+ symbols, paying from 10x to 100x for regular-paying symbols.
There’s plenty of features included in Candy Cashcades, so those who appreciate candy-themed slots boasting a lot of exciting and at the same time lucrative features will definitely find something here to get super fired. Aside from Cluster Pays, the game involves Cascading Wins, Sticky Wilds, Progressive Multipliers, Mega Symbols, and Win Spins.
Every time a winning cluster is made, all the winning symbols get removed from the grid to allow new symbols to tumble down onto the reel set and fill the empty spaces. The feature works perfectly paired with Cluster Pays mechanic since you can land multiple winning combinations on a single spin, launching a chain of consecutive wins. The Cascades continue up to the moment when no new clusters are available to be made.
There is a chance for a Colossal Candy to be added to the grid on any non-winning cascade. These are giant 2×2 sized symbols that convert all the symbols except for the Wilds it covers into one matching symbol after it drops.
The Wild symbols are the heart of the game for sure as they do not only substitute any other regular symbols to assist you to make clusters but also come with multipliers attached to them. The initial multiplier values begin at 1x, and whenever Wild symbols are part of winning combination, the multipliers increase by 1x. Wilds do not break after being part of winning clusters as they move to any empty adjacent position. They remain on the grid during the spins, though, they’ll disappear between the spins and the multiplier values will reset. Moreover, if more than one Wild takes part in a winning combo, their multipliers are summed up.
The Wilds also act as the Scatters, so whenever 3 or more appears on the screen, the Sugar Rush Win Falls feature is triggered. You’ll proceed to the Free Spins with 8 drops, and each one will guarantee you at least 1 winning combination. Moreover, at least 1 Colossal Candy will appear on each spin, and the Wilds come with attached multipliers, which increase similar to how they do during the base game. The feature cannot be retriggered.
All said and done, Candy Cashcades is a pretty decent option featuring a lot of interesting extras to keep you in the right mood during the session. Even though the theme may seem a bit cliched and jaded, Blueprint still managed to make the most of it by involving great visuals and exciting feature set.
As for the visuals, the game is certainly pleasing to the eye, however, the developers kept the original DNA of Sweet Success Megaways, these definitely lacks personality. We get the same setting and soundtrack, though, those who are not familiar with the above-mentioned title won’t get bothered about this ’downside’.
There’s plenty of things to do in Candy Cashcades, though, all the features are basic and lack authenticity for sure. You’ll get returns via the Sugar Rush Win Spins features, however, you won’t benefit much from it unless you land a couple of Wilds with decent multiplier values. Moreover, even though the maximum possible win is claimed to be 50,000x, you won’t be able to get more than 250,000$ on a single spin. Not to say that 250k is a meager amount, though, the cap is really frustrating, and betting big may not be worth the risk.
In a nutshell, Candy Cashcades is a controversial game indeed. It has its drawbacks as well as advantages that help it somehow stand out from the niche. Nevertheless, Blueprint did a great job of developing this one, and even though it won’t win everyone’s heart, the feature set paired with decent payout potential will be the main reasons why players will feel drawn to spin the reels on it.
