Onlyplay has only one Megaways release under their belt before this one, but they have a whole series built around the somewhat strange joker character called Jack Potter. We assume he’s supposed to be a jester version of Harry Potter, since he wears similar glasses and there is a mysterious castle in the background. Instead of building on the original Jack Potter release, however, Onlyplay has chosen to simply make this a reskin of their Megaways debut, Hot And Spicy Megaways.
This seems like a strange choice, really, and Jack Potter Megaways does not come with a bonus round or jackpots like the first Jack Potter game. In fact, you hardly get any features at all, except scatter wins up to 500x and a Mini Slot multiplier up to x9 per spin. The21,870x potentialis solid enough though, but we sure hope Onlyplay plans to include more features in future Megaways releases.
The fruit symbols pay between 0.5 and 5 x your stake for 6 of a kind wins, and the77 Wild symbolcan appear on reels 2, 3, 4, and 5 only. The Wild does not hold any value of its own, but it steps in for pay symbols to help complete and/or improve wins. TheJack Potter Joker symbolis a scatter, and it paysup to 500x your stakefor 6 anywhere in view.
You will see aMini Slot with 3 reelsabove the main grid, and it can land a combination of3 different symbols. When this happens you get a multiplier of x1, which means no multiplier at all. However, when all 3 reels land matching symbols you get a winmultiplier of x3, x6, or x9, and the multiplier will boost your current win (if you landed any).
We are not quite sure what Onlyplay has been thinking with this Megaways version, as the original Jack Potter seems like a better choice by far. It comes with both a solid jackpot up to 25,000x your stake, as well as a bonus round, and you get neither in Jack Potter Megaways. It’s basically a remake of their first Megaways release, Hot And Spicy Megaways. Visually, the two games are quite similar as well, but you get a dark, mysterious castle you can barely catch a glimpse of in the background in this release.
If you enjoy the dynamic grid engine enough to want to keep spinning it indefinitely with no features to break up the base game, well, look no further than Jack Potter Megaways. It comes with up to 46,656 win ways, which is well below average for this engine, but each win can be boosted by up to an x9 multiplier via the Mini Slot. Again, we are baffled by the choice of not including at least a bonus round to make this release more attractive, but perhaps this barebones installment will appeal to a certain narrow niche.
